The primer can be ordered here.
You protect the surface as if it were paint.
Yes, the application must be done in two layers. The first coat is used to prepare the final surface.
Yes, by applying the sealer, the color of your microcement will be slightly darker.
It is mandatory to put at least one coat of sealer.
Yes because microcement is a coating that is applied in two microlayers (approximately 1 mm each). It will therefore not hide any surface imperfections but these will be visible through the polished concrete.
If the surface is not smooth, imperfections can compromise the adhesion and appearance of the microcement. It is therefore recommended to carry out leveling and adequate preparation of the surface before applying the microcement.
Safety & Precaution
For a secure application, adopt these measures at all times:
PERSONAL PRECAUTION:
- Micro-Concrete contains components such as cement, which may cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. It is crucial to use adequate protective equipment, such as nitrile gloves, safety glasses and a protective mask.
- Also make sure to work in a well-ventilated space.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
- Ensure that the surface to be coated is clean, dry and free of any impurities, such as grease or other residue.
- Thorough cleaning may be necessary to remove existing defects or rough edges.
METICULOUS APPLICATION:
- To apply the polished concrete coating, use an appropriate spatula, taking care to distribute the material evenly.
- Be aware of the sharp edges of the tool, which may be as sharp as a blade, and handle it with caution.
COMPLIANCE WITH DRYING TIMES:
- Strictly adhere to the drying and curing periods specified by the manufacturer.
- It is essential not to disturb the treated surface during this time to allow adequate hardening of the material.
POST-APPLICATION MAINTENANCE
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and maintaining your decorative concrete surface.
- Opt for non-abrasive cleaners to avoid damaging the coating.
By following these guidelines, you ensure safe implementation and obtain optimal results with your microcement coating.
Micro-concrete is made of Portland cement and sand (crystalline silica). Here are the safety measures to follow in the event of contact:
Eye contact:
In case of exposure, it is imperative to wash the eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Skin Contact:
If concrete comes into contact with skin, clean affected areas thoroughly after handling.
Inhalation:
If vapors or dust are inhaled, move the affected person to a ventilated area. If she is conscious, make sure she can breathe fresh air.
Ingestion:
If swallowed, rinse mouth but avoid causing vomiting. Contact a poison control center or seek medical attention immediately.
Always consider consulting a doctor if necessary
